Abstract

Institutional governance is a critical factor in determining the success of educational institutions in meeting National Education Standards (SNP) and achieving superior accreditation status. This study aims to analyse the role of institutional governance in improving accreditation and education quality based on the eight pillars of SNP. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using library research and content analysis of relevant regulations and educational management literature. The findings indicate that the eight SNP standards (content, process, graduate competence, educators, infrastructure, management, funding, and assessment) constitute an integrated framework serving as an objective indicator of education quality. However, their implementation still faces several challenges, including poor documentation quality and limited managerial commitment. This study concludes that strengthening governance through the digitalisation of quality assurance systems and the internalisation of quality culture at the operational level is essential to reduce disparities in education quality and achieve optimal accreditation standards.
