Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Program Kampung Ramah Lingkungan (KRL) di Desa Pasir Salam, Gunung Bunder

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase community awareness and participation in environmental management through the development of the Environmentally Friendly Village (KRL) Program in Pasir Salam Village, Gunung Bunder. The main problems faced by the community include poor waste management, suboptimal utilization of Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) facilities, and minimal community participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness. The community service method used was a participatory approach based on community organization, with stages of environmental outreach and education, assistance in developing the WWTP area as a center for environmentally friendly activities, and active community involvement in community service activities, reforestation, and environmental maintenance. The results of the community service demonstrate increased community awareness of environmental cleanliness, optimization of the WWTP's function as a space for education and social interaction, the emergence of new social institutions in the form of Environmentally Friendly Village management, and the growing role of local leaders in mobilizing community participation. This activity encourages collective community awareness toward behavioral change and social transformation that supports the creation of a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.
