Abstract

Land limitations are one of the challenges in supporting food security, including in the educational environment. Schools as educational institutions have the potential to play a role in efforts to improve food security by utilizing limited land and available leftover land. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of students at SMA Negeri 1 Cepogo in optimizing limited land through the implementation of a simple hydroponic system. The methods used included outreach, focus group discussions, and hands-on practice of hydroponic installations using basins. The results of the activity showed that students responded positively and enthusiastically to the outreach and hydroponic practice activities. Students gained an understanding of the concept of food security, the utilization of limited land, and basic techniques for planting and caring for hydroponic plants. The implementation of the hydroponic system has proven to be an effective and easy-to-apply alternative in the school environment. This activity is expected to be the first step in developing sustainable use of school land and raise students' awareness of the importance of food security based on environmentally friendly technology.
