Abstract

Abstract. Motorcycle theft remains a serious problem due to the widespread use of conventional vehicle security systems that are easily compromised. This study aims to implement an Internet of Things (IoT)–based motorcycle security control and location tracking system using the prototype method, with Telegram as the user interface. The system is developed using an Arduino Uno microcontroller, a SIM900A GSM module for communication, a Ublox Neo-6M GPS module for location tracking, and a relay module as the vehicle ignition control actuator. System testing was conducted at several locations in Gunung Sindur District, Bogor Regency, through functional testing and GPS accuracy evaluation. The results show that the system is capable of remotely controlling the motorcycle ignition with a success rate of 100%. The average system response time is approximately one minute, which is influenced by GSM network quality. The system can also provide real-time vehicle location information via Telegram in the form of coordinates and a Google Maps link. GPS accuracy testing indicates an average positional deviation of 23 meters compared to Google Maps, which is within an acceptable tolerance range. Therefore, the developed system is considered effective and practical as an additional security solution to enhance motorcycle protection.
